Purchasing the Applet

When using the free evaluation version of WindowMenu, the "www.consultcom.com" url is displayed at all times in the applet's title bar. Furthermore, the message "free applets at www.consultcom.com" is displayed in the browser's status bar when the mouse is placed over the applet. It is a violation of this license agreement to intentionaly overwrite this message. The purchased version of WindowMenu does not display either of these messages.

Easy Setup

The easiest way to set up the applet on your site is to start with code found on this page. Cut and paste this sample applet code into your own HTML page. Please make sure all of the following files are in the same directory as your html file

After you change your HTML file you must hit 'Reload' on your browser to view the changes. You may need to close and reopen the browser to see the changes.

Once you have this sample applet working within your own page, then begin to customize the parameters for your own site.

Applet Parameters

titleBar  Determines if there will be a title bar displayed in the window. Set this value to either true or false. The default value is true.

This parameter is disabled in the trial version of the applet. In the trial version, the title bar is always visible and displays the "www.consultcom.com" url.

title  Text to be displayed in the applet's title bar.

titleFontSize  Sets the size of the font in the title bar. The default is 13.

This parameter is optional.

logo  Image displayed on the left side of the applet's title bar. Image may be either a jpg or gif.

This parameter is optional.

nIcon  The number of buttons to be displayed in the applet.

This parameter is mandatory, and the applet will not load correctly if it is not included.

row  The number of rows to be displayed in the applet.

This parameter is mandatory, and the applet will not load correctly if it is not included.

col The number of columns to be displayed in the applet.

This parameter is mandatory, and the applet will not load correctly if it is not included.

label  Each button in the WindowMenu may have a text caption on it. label0 sets the caption of the first button, label1 sets the caption of the second button, label2 the third, etc.

This parameter is optional, as each button either may or may not have a text caption.

iconFontSize  Sets the size of the font in the icon buttons. The default is 13.

This parameter is optional.

image  Each button in the WindowMenu may have an image on it. image0 sets the image on the first button, image1 sets the image on the second button, image2 the third, etc.

This parameter is optional, as each button either may or may not have an image on it.

link  Each button in the WindowMenu may be a link to a specified url. link0 sets the link for the first button, link1 sets the link on the second button, link2 the third, etc.

The value of this parameter may either be a complete url, a relative url, or a mailto link.

  • Complete urls must be of the form http://www.consultcom.com.
  • Relative urls are of the form ../../default.html.
  • mailto links are of the form mailto:support@consultcom.com
This parameter is optional, as each button either may or may not link to another url.  
target  The target frame which the all the links should open in.

This parameter is optional.  

borderRaised  Sets the style of the border. true indicates the border is raised, false indicates the border is descented. The default is true.

Our free evaluation version is for unlimited use, however it displays the consulting.com, Inc url in the browser's status bar. The purchased version does not display our url.
